A World We Dare To Imagine Part I

After reading this quote, one way I would like to help make the world a better place would be to help find more renewable sources for our energy. Currently in the United States, the majority of our energy is created from fossil fuels, such as petroleum, natural gas, and coal. When these three are burned, they emit greenhouse gases, which are harmful to the environment. Now we are in the process of increasing our renewable energy resources (such as wind, solar, and hydro power) which is good, but there are still a lot of areas where this isn't the case. For example, the majority of China's power is created through coal burning, making it the world's biggest emitter of greenhouse gases. There are areas in China where residents have to wear masks to protect themselves from the air pollution, which is crazy to think about. I think if we could reduce our reliance on fossil fuels for energy creation, the world would definitely be an improved place.

  2. On the Physical Plane-

I totally agree with your views on greenhouse emissions. I think as a society we will eventually need to develop alternatively forms of usable energy.

While this is a continuously debated topic in Microeconomics 'Is global warming actually a thing', something you can do as a citizen is possibly start lobbying yourself. Go out a collect signatures to put pressure of government officials to perhaps increase research and development towards solar, wind and hydro alternatives.

Oh, and also buy a Tesla

I am also a major proponent of sustainable energy, although I understand the current scientific limitations. In addition to Chris's idea of collecting signatures, I think you could perhaps try to make your home and lifestyle more sustainable. It could be something as simple as trying to recycle more. If you're able to afford it, you should look into utilizing solar energy such as through solar panel roofs. I understand that sustainable energy is expensive to invest in, but in the long run, it will certainly pay off.

  4. To piggy back off of Chris and Jimmy, gathering signatures will be the best way to get others attention. Power in numbers...
